Combined Canberra Dinner

News
21 September 2022

Old Reds joined with Old Blues at Royal Canberra Golf Club on Wednesday 21 September 2022 after an enforced hiatus caused by COVID-19.

The reunion occurred on the night prior to the national memorial service in Canberra on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Saint’s Headmaster Tim Browning spoke of Queen Elizabeth II’s lifetime of loyal service, visits to South Australia and familial linkage to PAC’s namesake - Prince Alfred.

Spirits were lifted by the presentation of PAOC neck ties to the youngest Old Red – pleasingly awarded to a trio of 2020 graduates in a three-way tie (pun unintended). News from the school delivered by PAOC President Alan Letcher was music to the ears of the group who had missed annual epistles due to the pandemic.

Canberra Old Reds paid tribute to College Foundation Executive Officer David Cornish’s two-decades’ service to the School, and wished him well in his post-Princes endeavours. Canberra Old Red Convener Edward Jackson paid tribute to local Princes stalwart, the late Brougham Clark. A dedicated and loyal friend and proud Princes-man, the success of the modern era of the Canberra Old Red community is testament to Brougham’s commitment and service to the school community.
